Women Empowerment

Introduction

There is no curtailment to what we, as women, can achieve. Nobody can make us feel low or inferior without our permission. A woman with a voice is a strong woman. Women Empowerment is a matter of human rights.

Women empowerment is all about supporting women’s self values, deciding their own choices, and determining any social changes, they want for themselves and others.

Global landscape

Gender equality is a basic human right. And it is also a base to have a peaceful, prosperous world to live in.

But females continue to face noticeable challenges globally. Women discriminated against in terms of power and decision-making roles. They often get unequal pay for equal work, which makes them suffer at work. Eve teasing, molestation, body shaming are the other major factors that create difficulty in continuing work with dedication at their workplace.

In this developing world, still, females treated as of less value than males. Instead of sending them to school/colleges, they forced to do household works. And also get married early before they can even be adults. Almost 12 million girls under the age of 15 are getting married off every year.

While there is progress in various parts of the world for gender equality. But still, there is a great scope of improvement to deal with the problems of gender inequality.

Women are no doubt getting stronger day by day. They can do whatever they want to do, whether it is inside the home or in the outside world. Powerful women are putting their hands in every field. Like from technology to medical, from flying fighter jets to be in research units, from NASA to moon to Mars, from leading the whole army to being great entrepreneurs, from being running startups to making them a big hit, from being great leaders of a nation to be in entertainment fields. They are marching ahead everywhere.

Women Empowerment

Examples being from Kalpana Chawla to Indira Gandhi, Hillary Clinton to Kamala Harris, Sheryl Sandberg to Mother Theresa, from Mary Kom to PV Sindhu and the list is never-ending. Though, most of the women are not recognizable. But still, everyday women are leading their lives like a fighter for their existence, for their value.

 Our society

Society consists of human beings with common sets of morals and ideologies. Thus somewhere in an educated society, women empowerment is all about treating women equally. In hindsight, a backward society will feel it as a luxury.

Society is where we all have grown up and it is the society that discourages a woman’s self-value.

In the same society, we will find that people avoid any such activities that add to the degrading treatment of women. They respect any woman as their family member. Many people having an open-minded approach towards women, encourage them to step ahead in society. And rather than taking permissions, they act as their decision-makers.

Well, the other side of the coin, who ignores their daughter or sister or wife and rather than contributing to lending a supporting hand they suppress females on personal to professional levels. Gossiping about women to promoting teasing to body shaming are other activities that can discourage a woman’s success at all levels. It is this society only that turns blind to their progress.

Final thoughts

So, women’s empowerment in society is two sides of the same coin. As it is said there will be good days, there will be bad days, but we need to keep moving, likewise, whosoever supports or not women should keep moving ahead in their lives for their betterment uplifting the other women along with them.

A woman supporting a woman is a power, which nobody can break down, so it’s us who can build ourselves.

To all the little girls who are watching this, never doubt that you are valuable and powerful, and deserving of every chance and opportunity in the world to pursue and achieve your own dreams.”
